Our Goals

STATEMENT OF PHILOSOPHY

Camp Crystal Lake offers any 7th -11th grader camper an experience that is safe, fun, unique and rewarding.

SAFE: The adventure camper will learn and practice wilderness safety procedures. The adventure camper will experience being responsible for the physical, social and emotional environment of the group as well as self.

FUN: An important part of maturing is not forgetting what fun is and what it takes to have fun. Fun is a mental health medicine.

UNIQUE: Each person seeks something different from the camp experience. Camp Crystal offers that difference.

REWARDING: Each person, whether staff or camper, can learn from others; the rewards that come from the camp experience are not always planned; they may result from the collective experience of being a member of the camp community.

When children grow in appreciation and knowledge of these things, they are developing qualities that will serve them for a lifetime.
