Directions

FROM GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA

Via Waldo:

Take State Road (SR) 24 to Waldo, then US 301(N) to County Road (CR) 221; turn right; go through Hampton; stay to the right at the next fork to continue on CR 18. After 4 miles, CR 18 dead ends at SR 100. Turn right onto SR 100; go 1 mile; turn left at Keystone Airport road. Follow the signs into camp. This route is 22 miles from the Gainesville Regional Airport.

Via Melrose:

Take 39 Ave. east to SR 26; follow SR 26 through Orange Heights to Melrose; turn left at the traffic light in Melrose onto CR 21(N). Take CR 21 to Keystone Heights; turn left at the traffic light in Keystone Heights onto SR 100(W); go 5 miles; turn right at Keystone Airport road. Follow the signs into camp. This route is 27 miles from the Gainesville Regional Airport.

FROM THE SOUTH (ORLANDO, TAMPA)

Take I-75 North to SR326 (exit # 358) just north of Ocala. Head east (a right turn) on SR326 for approximately 2 miles to the junction with US 301. Turn left (north) on 301. Take 301 all the way through Citra, Hawthorne and Waldo. (WATCH YOUR SPEED. FOREWARNED IS FOREARMED.) About 2 miles north of the Waldo Flea Market, CR 221 splits off to your right (just past the lumberyard and Lawtey Speed Trap billboard). Take 221 east through Hampton. 221 curves left - you need to go straight and continue on CR 18. After 4 miles, CR 18 dead ends at SR 100. Turn right onto SR 100; go 1 mile; turn left at Keystone Heights Airport Road. It's about 1 hour and 15 minutes from I-75 and SR326 to Camp Crystal.

FROM THE NORTHEAST/JACKSONVILLE

Take I-10 West to US301 at Baldwin. Turn right (south) onto 301 which you'll take through Lawtey (WATCH YOUR SPEED. FOREWARNED IS FOREARMED.) all the way into Starke where you'll turn left (east/south) on SR 100. It is about 10 miles to the Keystone Heights Airport Road. From South Jacksonville and the Orange Park area, it might be easier to take SR21 south to Keystone Heights. Turn north/right onto 100 at the traffic light. The Keystone Heights Airport road will be about four miles on your right. From JAX International Airport, it's about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

FROM THE NORTHWEST

Take I-10 East to I-75 South. Take SR238 east to SR 100 in Lake Butler. Head south through Starke. From Starke, it's about 10 miles to the Keystone Heights Airport Road.

FROM THE EAST COAST

From I-95, take SR 100 west at Flagler Beach (exit #284). Stay on 100 all the way through Palatka and Keystone Heights. After you go through Keystone Heights, Airport Road will be about four miles on your right. It's about 45 minutes from Palatka.

FROM THE WEST, CHIEFLAND, PERRY

Let me know if you need directions to miss as much as possible of Gainesville. It's about 45 minutes from Gainesville.

FOR ALL

There's a standard highway airport sign on SR100 to warn you in time plus a big brick and plaster sign for Keystone Heights Airport at the turn itself. After 1 mile, turn right at the Camp Crystal sign and follow this road all the way to the end.

Note: If using MapQuest for directions to Camp Crystal, the address to use is 6724 Camp Crystal Road, Keystone Heights. However, their map takes you to Keystone Heights and not to camp, four miles to the north.
