Camp Crystal Lake

Adventure

For 64 years, Camp Crystal Lake has been providing great recreation programs that kids love. This summer we will again take it to another level with Adventure, a program that introduces young people to new and exciting wilderness and adventure experiences!

Did you know that campers may attend both Adventure AND normal Summer Camp? Campers can do Adventure one week and regular Summer Camp for another week. Please call Camp Crystal Lake if you have any questions.

The Adventure program is designed to provide participants, grades 6-11, a safe, challenging, positive, and memorable experience. Through activities such as canoeing, high ropes, and backpacking, each child has the opportunity to experience the excitement and challenge of the outdoors.

Campers will not only learn more about themselves, they will build valuable skills that enable them to succeed as a group. Fortune 500 companies have led the way in discovering the team-building benefits of such programs.

A minimum 5:1 participant-staff ratio ensures the personal attention needed for each camper to develop their full potential--which we believe is extraordinary in each child.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT MY ADVENTURE TO BE LIKE?

Expect your adventure to be fun, and it will! When you arrive willing to devote yourself to new challenges, new experiences and meeting new people, you almost guarantee that you'll have a fantastic time. Plan to spend each day facing a new challenge or destination as planned on your trip itinerary. Be prepared to camp out every night in a tent under the starry sky. Expect to share equally in all areas of the adventure, food preparation, cooking and general camp needs.

We will ask you to give everything your best shot! We expect you to approach all activates with a mature attitude and a responsible attempt to do your best. We will encourage you to push your, but we will never ask more of you than you can do. Our program is based off of "challenge by choice." We want to know you and respect you for who you are and what you are about. Our goal is to make this the best experience possible for you and your group. We will expect you to understand that much of what we do is a team effort. We ask that you be an active and willing participant in group meetings, decisions and activities. You must pull your own weight when it is time to get things done. We will expect your behavior to be acceptable to all group members.
